Cotopaxi/Maruco

Dont have photos of this trip but im sure you can find some images online of Maruco, a small mountain next to Cotopaxi, and you should because it is absolutly beautiful!
Hiked in Saturday and out Sunday. A three hour hike in turned into a 4 and a half hour hike due to hail then show storm and the biggest electrical storm i have ever seen/heard/felt! We were hiking up a ridge to pass by the foot of cotopaxi and to Maruco when we had to escape(fast) into a valley to avoid getting fried... It was SOOOO cool (chandler like your dream thunder storm) I was dancing and trying to stay warm since we waited for about a 1/2 hour till we were sure it passed!

Hiked up to a permanent camp and ate and ate and ate, talked and laughed a lot. Didn´t sleep a wink as we were sleeping like sardines, while i was warm i was also extremly uncomfortable with a headache and all. BUT it was so worth it.

Planning on leaving with Andinismo this weekend, will return Sunday. Had a sleep over at my friend Gaby's house with mis amigas. Girls nite! It was fun, but i am definitely tired today!

Biking in Ecuador plus Quilatoa

Went biking here with a buddy of mine. Super fun. The requirements were to streets and no hills, so we went on a path the Ciclovia (tada) which twist through Cumbaya and Tumbaco for 20 km. It was bumpy but my pavement riding behind finally got used to it! It was great to get to ride...

We didnt make it the 20 km, while passing a truck on the ciclovia (it also seems to be a car via) he popped his tire and it turned out that his other two spare tubes where also holey... So we went into Tumbaco and finally found a bike shop...got it fixed and decided to head back. Super fun mountain biking adventure! I now have a sweet t-shirt tan that is super flattering :)

Went to Quilatoa over the weekend. (Will post photos later) It is a laguna in the crater of a Volcanoe. Amazing. It was a short trip, arrived and hiked for 2 hours in medio darkness, then returned very damp as we had been walking in the clouds! Ate and Danced. Hiked the next day, found a cave and headed back to Quito.

Have my first presentation tommorow...little nervous, but oh well... :)
